October is quickly flying by, which means Winter is quickly approaching. I want to first say a huge “Thank you!” to all of parents and Wendler Community members for all your support. Our students are doing an awesome job and really living up to our Wendler Way 2 Be standards, and also RAMing it up when it comes to our Wendler attendance motto:

All these factors, focusing on schoolwide expected student behavior and attendance, help increase the time that students are receiving instruction from teachers, therefor increasing our students’ academic outcomes.

Looking at attendance data alone for our students here at Wendler for this school year:

69.12% of our students meet the district standard of having attended school 90% of the year so far. That’s missing 4 or less days of school since the start date of Aug. 15th.

We want to celebrate all the awesome achievements of all of our Wendler scholars, and reward them for all of their hard work they did this quarter by ending with our traditional “End-of-the-Quarter Fun Day”. Fun Day is where we pause instruction at the very end of the last day of each quarter, and staT set up a bunch of fun activities, (ex: open gym, board games, movie room, dance), for students to participate in from 2:30 – 4pm. This will also be an opportunity for students to get their cell phones for this event, and capture one of those fun and exciting middle school moments.
